Hydrogen
On July 7th 2023, French Minister for Energy Transition Agnès Pannier-Runacher's visit to Saudi Arabia was a significant step in the ongoing collaboration between France and the Kingdom, following a Memorandum of Understanding signed in February 2023. The delegation, which included Beatrice Buffon, EDF Group Senior Executive Vice-President in charge of the International Division and CEO of EDF Renewables, and Omar Aldaweesh, CEO of EDF Saudi Arabia, focused on discussions about green hydrogen, a key element in both countries' strategies for sustainable energy development. This visit also highlighted the active role of French companies like EDF in supporting Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, particularly in renewable energy projects.
