EDF was awarded 2 Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) projects, Taiba 2 & Qassim 2, with provision for decarbonisation through carbon capture technology. These projects mark a first for Saudi Arabia: decarbonised thermal power plants. They align with the Kingdom's energy mix plan to ensure reliable power, promote domestic industry, and adopt carbon capture.

This supports the Saudi Green Initiative's goal of achieving 50% renewable and 50% gas energy mix by 2030. EDF, a leader in decarbonisation, brings expertise to these projects, which will power more than 1 million of homes and boost the local economy.
